My husband, Jaeon, and I are actually serving as medical missionaries right now in Rwanda. It is heartbreaking to see the children wearing scraps for clothing as their mothers sleep on the ground next to their cribs. As Jaeon and I take care of their little bodies with medicine, I thought it would be nice to provide clothing for them as well. So I am working on making hats of all sizes and colors for the children here at Kibogora Hospital.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
I was naked and you clothed me,

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for the least of these, you did for me."

I may have gotten just a little carried away and crocheted my future niece a HUGE baby blanket. At least we know that she will stay warm at night! Honestly though, I just couldn't help myself. This sweet baby girl will be the first grandchild on both sides and my first niece. Can't wait to meet you little Elsie Mae!

So I did not use a pattern with this one either, I just kind of eyeballed it. [However I did learn this really cool stitch that I will put in my next post.] The whole thing is double crochet. I used kind of an oatmeal colored yarn for the base and then a bright white, thick yarn for my accents. I threw some little pom poms on there just for fun and made some tassels to put on all four sides.

My sister, Ali, is pregnant and OH MY GOODNESS she is the absolute cutest pregnant woman ever!! So naturally, I had to make her baby girl a stuffed animal. Bunnies are Ali's favorite, so I thought that would be the perfect gift! I did not use a pattern, otherwise I would totally share, I just kind of make it up as I go :)

I got to make this cute little wall hanging for a sweet friend who is starting her first year of college! It's really fun to get to make things for awesome young women like Maddie. She is seriously one of the sweetest most God-fearing young women I know! Wishing you the best first semester Mads!!

playing with sketching.

This was really fun to make! I am no artist [I wish I was] so I used a picture I found on the internet as my inspiration. I used some of my old piano sheet music and sketched over it with charcoal. Once I was done with the picture, I stitched it onto a piece of fabric, crochet a few roses, and stapled it to the back of a picture frame. There was really no method to my madness, but I do think it turned out pretty good :)

this is my older sister, Ali. I love crocheting her things and then getting to take cute pictures of her wearing them :)
